Chun'an County, November 15, 2023 – In a significant move to boost the tourism sector, the People's Government of Chun'an County and China Travel International Investment Hong Kong Limited (CTG INTERNATIONAL) have inked an investment cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony, held on the morning of November 15, was witnessed by WANG Hao, Governor of Zhejiang Province, and CHEN Yin, Chairman of China Tourism Group (CTG).

The agreement follows the strategic cooperation pact inked on February 14, 2023, between the Zhejiang Provincial Government and CTG. This earlier agreement laid out plans to support Chun'an County in building a demonstration zone for common prosperity. It emphasized leveraging both parties' strengths to invest in and develop integrated projects encompassing business, cultural, agricultural, and sports tourism.

After nine months of diligent discussions, the collaboration has successfully materialized in a joint venture on November 15 between CTG INTERNATIONAL and Chun'an Qiandao Lake Tourism Group Co., Ltd., a state-owned enterprise in Chun'an County. This venture will focus on the development and operation of tourism resources within the AAAAA-rated Qiandao Lake (Thousand Island Lake) scenic area, adopting a unified approach in product planning, tour boat running, scenic area operation and marketing. Concurrently, efforts will be made to renovate and upgrade surrounding attractions like Xiushui Street and local food stalls, significantly enhancing Qiandao Lake's market appeal and competitiveness in the Yangtze River Delta region. The next phase will see an intensified focus on comprehensive planning and development of Qiandao Lake, introducing high-end tourism formats like ecological tours, cultural experiences, fashionable sports, and leisure vacations, aiming to create a signature cultural and tourism complex around Qiandao Lake.

CTG INTERNATIONAL will leverage its platform integration advantages to deepen cooperation with Chun'an County in areas such as marketing, tourist attraction, festival activities, and conference tourism. This collaboration aims to transform Qiandao Lake to a world-class scenic area and resort destination, steering its tourism towards a new phase featuring high quality, internationalization, diversification and all-for-one tourism as a world-class "Lake + Resort" destination.

Qiandao Lake, a pivotal node on the golden water tour route of the “Poetry Culture Road along the Banks of Three Rivers”, is a national AAAAA scenic area, national tourism resort, one of the first national key scenic spots, and the first special ecological function zone in China. It boasts rich natural and cultural resources, unique brand advantages, a solid visitor base, and excellent surrounding facilities.

CTG INTERNATIONAL and Chun'an County Government aim to benchmark against world-class lake development practice, with the joint vision to establish Qiandao Lake as a leading world-class high-end tourism and vacation lake destination. The initiative will reshape Qiandao Lake with the new concept of "A Thousand and One Nights at Qiandao Lake", offering immersive experiences of "One Island, One World". These efforts are poised to set a new standard in the integration of culture and tourism in Zhejiang, driving the high-quality development of Chun'an County's tourism industry.

The signing ceremony was attended by leaders from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee, Hangzhou Municipal Government, CPC Chun'an County Committee, Chun'an County Government, and top executives from CTG INTERNATIONAL, including General Manager FENG Gang, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) ZHANG Daorong, and Deputy General Manager YANG Weiquan.
